Squigglefly Challenge #32, SFC3212 Three Layer Dip

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? Well first let me tell you about last week's winner.  The contest last week was to create your card in Black and white.  The winner is Loretta creating a great round shaped card, using a wonderful Freebie called Hi Bella, which is a Shy Bear from artist Lynne Stansberry.  If you love that Shy Bear image, check out all of the amazing Shy Bears.  Just as Loretta won by starting with a freebie, so can you, so check out all the wonderful stamps at Squigglefly and give this challenge a try!

Loretta, please contact Holly at usyungs@gmail.com, for your prize.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, on to this week's challenge, SFC3212 Three Layer Dip

This week's challenge is very simple.  Create a card using at least three layers of paper or embellishments somewhere on your card.  Show us a great set of layers in different places.  We can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!
Let's start with some inspiration from the Holley Hobbyists.

Linda Weber created this wonderful card using Siobhan Harrison's Santa Tree-Topper.  What an adorable card.  Check out the layering she has used everywhere.  Thanks so much for joining our team this week, Linda!  Just think of all the great handmade Christmas cards you could make if you just get a few in every week starting now.

Jan Marshall  made this bright and beautiful card in yellow.  She's using a wonderful new stamp called Sun Shiny from artist Mike Eustis.  I like how she not only layers her papers and her items one on top of the other, but she is also layering them one item below the other.  That's a totally different way of thinking! Check out her white brads in the corner, clever, huh?

Elizabeth Hart designed this adorable card using a brand new design from artist Mike Eustis called Mischievous Mouse.  She's using wonderful layering too, on her mouse image, on her saying, on the adorable cuppie cake.  Oh so darling!

Charlene Mitchell shows great layering in several places, on the saying, on her cute flowers, layers of paper and ric rac, just adorable!  Oh, lovely.  Her card is using the new image called  Baby Bunting by artist Fawn Palmer.

Lisa Minkler crafted this humerus card using wonderful shades of green everywhere and a great image from artist Lynne Stansbery called Did You Say Facelift.  Check out all her amazing layers....wow!  I love that funny saying, "Remember...as far as anyone knows, we ARE a normal family!"  How many fun sayings can you think of to go with this lady?

Tammy Hair created a wonderful card using artist Fawn Palmer's For Your Birthday.  Look at all her double layered papers!  I love how she ties them all together by using a tiny sliver of light blue behind each one.  So great.

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog)  used an adorable stamp in Christmas theme from artist Siobhan Harrison and is called "Christmas Goody Bag.  My card actually has 5 layers using a couple types of paper.  Just think, if you did a Christmas theme card even one per week, you would be done by the time Christmas got here!

I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card this week. Now run out and make a card to play along with us, don't forget to have lots of layers.  You are always welcome to play no matter what images you use, but to be eligible for the prize, please use a stamp from Squigglefly.

Squigglefly Challenge #30, SFC3012 Speak to Me

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? Well first let me tell you about last week's winner.  The contest last week was to use paper piercing as part of your project.  The winner was Carolyn of Luvmycards. She created a wonderful card using Lynne Stansbery's image and saying from My Punny Valentine #4.  She then did her paper piercing as the wave effects coming off of the fan image. So clever!

Please contact Holly at usyungs@gmail.com, for your prize.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, on to this week's challenge, SFC3012 Speak to Me

This week's challenge is very simple.  Just add a saying to your card.  This can be in addition to your image or instead of your image.  You can use an image that comes with a saying or create your own saying, add a stamped saying, a computer generated saying, a sticker saying, a handwritten saying, a vellum saying or any embellishment type of saying. Check out all the amazing sayings at the Squigglefly site for only $0.99!!
  We can't wait to see it.

If you would like some inspiration,  check out these samples from the Holley Hobbyists.

Pat Martin created this clever project which is a box that opens up!  what a cute idea.  Can you imagine giving someone a little box that says, "Feelin' Froggy?"  well, guess what when they open it up?  HA!  This adorable stamp and saying are sold together created by artist Diane Garrison.

Jan Marshall  made this cute and funny card with a wonderful stamp from artist Lynne Standberry.  It's called Busted.  I just love that sentiment, "If I had the choice....I'd chew shoe!"  Ha!  Any card that makes me laugh, that's perfect.  What a delight.

Elizabeth Hart designed this adorable card with a new image from Fawn Palmer.  Isn't her card a delight?  This digi-stamp is called "In the palm of my hand."  It's so precious.  I love her birdie papers and cute saying to go with it!

Charlene Mitchell shares an adorable angel card using Coffee Angel from artist Suzanne Urban.  I just love the saying she added here, too cute!  I think I would need my coffee flavoured as well.  The saying shown is sold with the image as well.

Lisa Minkler crafted this darling card.  She is using Butterfly Beauties from artist Diane Garrison.  What an amazing and elegant card.  I just love her flowers and diecuts.

Tammy Hair created an adorble card using a new stamp from artist Fawn Palmer called "Beach Babe."  This wonderful image comes with 4 sayings too for only $3.00!!  Isn't she the cutest? I just love Tammy's card.  Check out the great sayings that come with her on the Squigglefly blog.

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog)  used a wonderful image called "SteamPunk" from artist Fawn Palmer.  I added my own saying here because she is holding a key and I had an adorble key diecut that I wanted to match the saying.  But this stamp also comes with a saying "Keep calmn and goggles on."

I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card this week. Now run out and make a card to play along with us.  Be sure to include a sentiment on it.  To be eligible for the prize, use a sentiment or an image from Squigglefly.  Cheers!

Squigglefly Challenge #28, SFC2812 I Give Thee, A Recipe

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? First let me welcome the new team members that I told you about last time.  WELCOME Jan, Elizabeth, and Lisa!  Secondly, let me say "Huge thanks" to team member Theresa, as she served us well and we will miss her lots. Thanks for being on our team.  Hugs.

   Now let me tell you about last week's winner!  The requirement for last week's challenge was to use paper piecing as part of your project.  The winner for that challenge is Carolyn from Luv My Cards who created a wonderful Paper Piecing using Future Astronaut from Cheryl Alger.  Congrats!

Please contact Holly at usyungs@gmail.com, for your prize.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, on to this week's challenge, SFC2812 I Give Thee, a Recipe

The recipe, in addition to an image is the following three things:
1) ribbon or lace;
2) brad or eyelets;
3) die cut(s) which may be store bought, or hand cut, or hand punched, or cut with your own machine, or used to cut out your stamped image, or used to cut the shape of your card;

Combine these three things, your image (you must use a Squigglefly image to be eligible for the prize, but it is not required to play along), and any other goodies you would like to share on your card.  We can't wait to see it.  If you would like some inspiration,  check out these samples from the Holley Hobbyists.

Pat Martin created this card using a stamp called Something's Fishy by Mike Eustis.  I love the unique fold she's done with her card and the marbled paper she used!

Jan Marshall  made this beautiful card using This Little Piggy went Shopping by artist Suzanne Urban.  Check out the adorable saying she added!  Clever!  I just love her coloring and that amazing die cut and so many layers to her paper.  Her saying is perfect, sure gives a new meaning to "this little piggy went to market" huh?

Elizabeth Hart designed this adorable card with This Little Piggy went Shopping from artist Suzanne Urban.  I often like to see multiple designs using the same image.  Isn't it great to see how different that Jan and Elizabeth's cards look using the same image?  I love the warm colors that Elizabeth chose below with cute lace and ribbon both!!

Charlene Mitchell shares a wonderful card  using "The Old Gray Mare" by artist Lynne Stansbery. This adorable image comes with a couple of fun sayings.  She included one on the inside of her card, shown below.  I just love her lace, brad and die cut combo!
 Inside her card:

Lisa Minkler crafted this wonderful card.  Don't you love her coloring?  how about that amazing stitching?  She's using "The Old Gray Mare" by artist Lynne Stansbery.  This image comes with additional sayings that are not shown on the card!

Theresa Gerber designed this card using Dangerous Wizard from artist Mike Eustis.  How adorable!  It's been so wonderful having Theresa on our team.  Be sure and leave her some love in the comments section below.  This stamp from Mike Eustis is just adorable and perfect for boy themed cards.  Delightful.

Tammy Hair created a fun card using The Old Gray Mare by artist Lynne Stansbery.  She is also using one of the sayings that comes with the stamp, "You don't stop laughing because you grow old.  You grow old because you stop laughing."  Isn't it amazing to see three different looks with the same stamp?  check out all of the design teams ideas with this image!

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog)  used a wonderful image from Mike Eustis called I Love NY. Isn't this image just adorable?  I added some adorable lace, tiny metallic blue brads, and some great flourish style die cuts from Sizzix.
I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card this week. Now run out and find the three items you need to make a card for this week's challenge!
