Squigglefly Challenge #48, SFC4812 Winter Wonderland

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? Well first let me tell you about last week's winner.  The contest last week was Glitter and Bling.  Weren't all the creations full of shimmer? The winner in last week's challenge was Leslie Miller for her beautiful creation using Holiday Bells by Marlene Shega.

The winner can contact Holly from Squigglefly at usyungs@gmail.com, for your prize.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, on to this week's challenge, SFC4812 Winter Wonderland!

This week's theme is winter wonderland. Anything winter theme is great, whether the image is winter themed or not--you can always add some winter themed paper or other winter embellishments to turn your card into a winter wonderland card!

Let's start with some examples made by the Holley Hobbyists:

Pat Martin created this cheerful card with a bright colors and beautiful snowflakes.  This adorable image comes from artist Cheryl Alger and is called Angeld up Christmas Caroler.  Who wouldn't want this little girl to sing at their door?  I'd call this card a wonderful winter greeting!

Jan Marshall  created a wonderful card with an adorable saying "Winter is a real hoot!"  I am thinking if I ever saw an owl with a hat and scarf set like that I sure would get a laugh!  How great is that?  This image is from artist Fawn Palmer and comes with the saying shown.  It's called "A Winter Owl Too."
Elizabeth Hart designed a wonderful winter filled card using and adorable holiday image.  I love the amazing snowflakes that she decorated her card with, matched with some fun ribbon and amazing papers.  She even made the image look like it's filled with snow in the air!  Beautiful.  This image is called Honk for the Holidays by Fawn Palmer.  It comes with 2 sentiments (not shown).
Charlene Mitchell designed this pretty card using amazing printable papers from the Inger Harding Paper Collection Joyful Christmas Collection . The image she is using is called Baby it's Cold Outside from artist Fawn Palmer.  What a delightful combination.

Lisa Minkler crafted this stunning card using a great image from artist Diane Caurbia. It's called Topiary Ted.  Isn't this creation amazing? I love her stitching and the gorgeous ribbons and beautiful bling.  What a wonderful sentiment, Oh Christmas Tree... (But if you check it out, Topiary Ted is making a car, this image would be perfect for any time of the year...or do you think he's just giving SANTA a big 'ol hint?)

Tammy Hair created this heart warming card using a great stamp from artist Fawn Palmer called Libby and her Penguin.  She added a great sentiment "Christmas brings out the kid in us all."  How dear is that?  Wouldn't we all want a pet penguin?

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog)  used a great image from artist Diane Carubia called Big Sister Babs.  This image doesn't have to be used for Christmas theme, but I colored her up in light blue/greens and added her to a snowflake card with flocked handmade paper from India and adorable tiny decorative buttons.  She sure looks Christmas-y now!
I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card to play along this week.  You are always welcome to play no matter what images you use, but to be eligible for the prize, please use a stamp from Squigglefly!

Squigglefly Challenge #46, SFC4612 I'm So Thankful!

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? Well first let me tell you about last week's winner.  The contest last week was to use an image over again in "Oldies but Goodies."  The winner in last week's challenge was Sandi who created a delightful card using Always Do Your Own Thing by artist Lynne Stansbery.

The winner can contact Holly from Squigglefly at usyungs@gmail.com, for your prize.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, on to this week's challenge, SFC4612 I'm So Thankful!

This week's theme is all about thanks.  You have one of THREE choices:  1) make a thank you card;  OR 2) Make a Thanksgiving themed card; OR 3) make a card ABOUT something that you are so very thankful for (and think about adding a sentiment to match). For example, a card with a dog and a cute saying that says "God loves me, so he sent me this dog to be my guardian angel!"

Let's start with some examples made by the Holley Hobbyists:

Pat Martin created this cheerful card with a bright colors and amazing feathers.  This stunning image comes from artist Fawn Palmer and is called  Happy Turkey Day.  I'd call this card a wonderful Thanksgiving greeting!

Jan Marshall  created a wonderful Thank You card for Santa himself!  Don't you love her sentiment? This image is called Better Not Pout Santa by artist Cheryl Alger.  What a great way to say thanks (besides leaving out a plate of cookies for santa too)!

Elizabeth Hart designed a wonderful Thanksgiving theme card!  I just love that turkey, though I am guessing any turkey is not very happy that it's thanksgiving!  This sweet image is called Pilgrim with Gun from artist Fawn Palmer.

Charlene Mitchell designed this pretty card using amazing gold borders and wonderful die cutting.  This card is a thank you card and a thankgiving theme card all in one!  The image is by artist Lynne Stansbery and is called A Truly Bountiful Harvest.

Lisa Minkler crafted this stunning tag using a great image from artist Deena Perrault. It's called Snow Globe with Snowman.  Isn't this creation amazing? I love her sparkle and her little saying, "Snow Thankful for you!" Awe....That's the way to create a wonderful Thank You card for someone.

Tammy Hair created this heart warming card using a great stamp from artist Lynne Stansbery.  This stamp is called Devotion and comes with the sentiment she added.  How dear is that?  Sounds like something I would be thankful for!

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog)  used a great image from artist Fawn Palmer called Let's Talk Turkey.  Doesn't that turkey look good?  This stamp comes with the saying shown on the card.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  Now's you chance to make a couple quick cards for the holiday.
I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card to play along this week.  You are always welcome to play no matter what images you use, but to be eligible for the prize, please use a stamp from Squigglefly!

Squigglefly Challenge #44, SFC4412 Ribbons and Bows!

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? Well first let me tell you about last week's winner.  The contest last week was to create a card using Squares.  The winner was Carolyn from LuvMyCards for her awesome card using Diane Garrison's Butterfly Beauties.  Be sure and look at Carolyn's card HERE.

The winner can contact Holly at usyungs@gmail.com, for your prize.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, on to this week's challenge, SFC4412 Ribbons and Bows!

This week's theme is Ribbons and Bows.  You can either add a real ribbon and/or bow to your card OR use a stamp image that has a ribbon or bow on the image OR use an embellishment of a ribbon or bow, for example a brad shaped like a bow or a button shaped like a bow!

Let's start with some examples made by the Holley Hobbyists:

Pat Martin created this cheerful card with a bright blue ribbon and bow.  This stunning image comes from artist Jane Beljo and is called A Gingerbread House.   Doesn't it look good enough to eat? Did you know Squigglefly also has an adorable set of Gingerbread men (click here)?

Jan Marshall  created a perfect pink card using an adorable stamp from Cheryl Alger. This stamp is called   Mischievous Polly the Christmas Elf.  There's a bunch of adorable bows all over this cute image.  Perfect for the challenge.  In addition, she added some wonderful pink polka dot ribbon to the base of her card.  So cute!

Elizabeth Hart designed this holiday theme card in amazing colors and added a beautiful PINK bow to match the beautiful PINK bow on the image itself!  That's two times the challenge.  This image comes from artist Inger Harding and is called Angel with Candle.

Charlene Mitchell designed this pretty card using amazing ribbon (see her blog for details), note her cute little image also has a BOW in her hair.  She's using a sentiment called Chinese Thinking of You from artist Fawn Palmer. Her adorable image is from artist Cheryl Alger.  She's called Polly is a Perfect Angel.  What a delight!

Lisa Minkler crafted this stunning card using a great image from artist Jane Beljo. It's called A Gingerbread House.  Her decor is just stunning, Wow! And don't you love that winter theme ribbon under the house?

Tammy Hair created this sweet card using a great stamp from artist Cheryl Alger.  This stamp is called Candy Cane Sally.  Her card has a bow in the image and two bows that she added on her card.  How darling!

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog)  used a great image from artist Diana Garrison called Christmas Bird.  This stamp comes with two wonderful sayings, the one shown below on the card, and another saying "Catch the Christmas Spirit." I added two ribbons to the border above and below the saying.

I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card to play along this week.  You are always welcome to play no matter what images you use, but to be eligible for the prize, please use a stamp from Squigglefly!
