Squigglefly Challenge #32, SFC3213 Thinking of you

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Hello everyone! Are you ready for this week's challenge? Well, first let me tell you last week's winner.  We had a great challenge last week to create a manly theme card.  Our winner is Kaye Greening who created a wonderful card using Ah Retirement from artist Lynne Stansberry.

Please contact Holly at usyungs@gmail.com for your prize.
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This week's challenge is SFC3213 Thinking of You.

The contest is wide open this week, create a wonderful thinking of you card.  This card could be for your kids, your hubby, your family, a far away friend, a soldier overseas or ?  Whatever you want to send them to let them know that they are on your mind!  We'd love for you to use a Squigglefly image, to be prize eligible it's required, but everyone is welcome to play along.
Let's start with some inspiration from the Holley Hobbyists:

Pat Martin crafted a wonderful gorgeous black and white card with beautiful papers.  It's from artist Diana Garrison and is called Cookies Thinking of You.  How perfect is that for this week's challenge.  Note,  there's also a wonderful image with just the Cookies, not including the thinking of you.

Jan Marshall  also created a lovely winter theme card using a new image from Dawn Collins.  This stamp is called Do You Care for Tea?  Just warms me up looking at her card.  This image also comes with a cute sentiment for just $3!

Elizabeth Hart designed a lovely card using paper piecing an adorable outfit for this cute girl from Cheryl Alger.  This image is called Just a Little Hello Maddie.  How sweet is this?  I can just imagine a family member getting this card and thinking of their sweet granddaughter, niece, or neighbor.

Charlene Mitchell used a sweet bedtime image from artist Judith Hart.  This cute image is Bedtime.  I love how her card looks like a quilt.  So cute.  If all else fails....I am going to hug a teddy bear, that's for sure.

Darlene Pavlick created a wonderful fall theme card using this beautiful squirrel image from artist Judith Hart.  This image is called Nuts About You.  How precious is that?  She also added a wonderful sentiment for Thinking of you, perfect for those far away friends and family.

Tammy Hair created a stunning card using a brand new image from Cheryl Alger called Swing me a Story Max.  I just love the tiny yellow butterflies she added and the embossed tree limb that she put to hand the swing from.  I mean, look, there's rope holding up his swing and grass!! How cute is that! WOW Tammy.

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog)  used a great image from artist Fawn Palmer.  This lady is called Wanna Have a Drink.  She comes with the sentiments shown plus three other adorable sayings for just $3!  I made this card to let my hubby know it's You & Me all the way...
I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card to play along this week.  You are always welcome to play no matter what images you use, but to be eligible for the prize, please use at least one stamp from Squigglefly!

We realize that many people don't have blogs, but instead participate in our challenges using on-line galleries. We love that you are helping us spread the word about Squigglefly! However, many of the galleries require passwords and not all of us at Squigglefly belong to every gallery or group. To help us make sure we don't miss your artwork, we are asking that if you do use an online gallery that you leave us a comment on the challenge post. That way we'll be sure to have a member of the Squigglefly team who is a member of that gallery (SCS, CDAC, PCP, etc) can validate your entry.

1.) If you up-load your creation to any on-line photo galleries, please use SFC3213 for your keywords when loading your creation photo there. 1b) please leave a comment on the challenge blog post so that someone from Squigglefly can validate your entry for the prize.

2) You don't *have* to include a Squigglefly image on your creation, but in order to qualify for the prize you will need to use one! You can also combine SF images with non-SF images to qualify! Don't have one? There are several FREEBIES you can grab from the Squigglefly store, hop on over there. Those images will qualify you for the prize.

3) You have one week to complete the challenge and it will close Sunday evening. The winner will be announced at the same time the new challenge post comes up...so be sure to check back EVERY Monday to see if you are a winner!

4) Please leave a direct link to your entry in the comments below. The linking tool works sporadically and we don't want to miss your project! (No back-linking please.)

Squigglefly Challenge #30, SFC3013 Piece me or Pierce me

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Hello everyone! Are you ready for this week's challenge? Well, first let me tell you last week's winner.  We had a great challenge last week to create a card using pink or baby blue.   We had a beautiful winner from Vicki who created a gorgeous pink card using Cheryl Alger's Simple Gift of a Flower.

Please contact Holly at usyungs@gmail.com for your prize.
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This week's challenge is SFC3013 Piece me or Pierce me.

Create a card using either technique. Paper Piecing or Paper Piercing.
Are you familiar with these techniques?  Here's some wonderful examples from the Hobbyists. Paper Piercing is done when you use something sharp, such as an awl, thick needle, tip of your scissors to pierce holes in your paper creating a decorative effect.  Paper Piecing is a technique when an image (or background image) is printed out on multiple colored papers or printed papers and then combined, i.e. pieced, into the final image.
Let's start with some inspiration from the Holley Hobbyists:

Pat Martin crafted a wonderful paper piecing example using a beautiful image from artist Pamela Lehto.  This tasty treat is called Cup with a Cherry.  Doesn't it look yummy?

Jan Marshall  also used paper piecing on this elegant rose.  This gorgeous image is from artist Pamela Lehto and is called For All You Do.  It also comes with a nice sentiment for just $3.  Beautiful work.

Elizabeth Hart designed a lovely card using paper piecing for the beautiful picnic blanket.  This image is from artist Lynne Stansberry and is called Picnic for Two.  Looks like a happy place to be.

Charlene Mitchell used an adorable teddy from artist Cheryl Alger.  This cute image is Bentley's Bee Fortune.  She's using paper piecing on her cute little bees and some piercing too!  How wonderful for this week's challenge.

Darlene Pavlick created a wonderful summer theme paper piercing around her fun cut of this adorable image from Cheryl Alger.  This image is "It's a Jump Rope Kind of Day Maddie."  Too cute!

Tammy Hair created a stunning card using a brand new image from Fawn Palmer called A Zombie.  It comes with the sentiment shown and inside the card says "they just keep coming and coming until you're dead."  There's an additional sentiment, "Here's hoping your birthday is a real killer."  Ha!  Too great and just $3 at the store.

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog)  used a great image from artist Fawn Palmer called Beautiful Mermaid.  She comes with both the sentiments shown plus others for just $3!  I used paper piercing around the image and both the sentiments.

I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card to play along this week.  You are always welcome to play no matter what images you use, but to be eligible for the prize, please use at least one stamp from Squigglefly!

Coming August 3rd!

August's release of new images is almost upon us, and we will be welcoming a new artist to Squigglefly!  Judith Hart has some wonderful sweet illustrations that we know you will love!  Here's a little about Judith

Hi, I'm Judith. I live in Norwich, UK with my son, Michael and our little dog Poppy. In 2008, at the grand old age of 40, I was finally brave enough to embrace my creative urges and went to college to study for a foundation degree in art and wellbeing; the best thing I ever did! Since then I have been stretching my artistic wings and am gradually learning to fly. My illustrations are based on the cute little things in life. I hope you enjoy them.

Please come to Squigglefly August 3rd to see Judith's artwork as well as many  more from all of your favorite artists!  It's a release you won't want to miss!

So, are you ready for this week's challenge? Well, first let me tell you last week's winner.  We had a great challenge last week to create a Thank You card.   We had a beautiful card submitted by Lawren using Retro Tulips from Squigglefly artist Jan Beljo. Congrats!

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This week's challenge is SFC2813 Emboss Me!

Add something embossed to your card, it can be any of the wonderful backgrounds that create embossing, any of the spellbinders die cuts that have embossing, any brass stencils that use dry embossing, or add a great embellishment or cardstock that already comes embossed.
Let's start with some inspiration from the Holley Hobbyists:

Pat Martin crafted this cute little boy theme card with an adorable image from Cheryl Alger.  I love the swirl embossing, which she sanded down to show texture and color.  The cute image is called "Its a Jump Rope Kind of Day Max."

Jan Marshall  created this beautiful card covered in embossed hearts.  The flowers are a gorgeous new image just released from artist Diana Garrison called Cone Flowers.  She added a perfect Thinking of You sentiment to go with it.

Elizabeth Hart designed a lovely card using a beautiful frame from artist Pamela Lehto called Lattice Frame.  Inside the frame, she added a gorgeous image from Alecia Blake called Beach Birthday Girl. She used a wonderful embossing pattern that makes me think of little bubbles on the ocean.

Charlene Mitchell used an stunning image Birds and Ladybugs from Cheryl Alger to create this beautiful card.  This fun image set comes with three different adorable scenes for only $3.00!  I love the embossed backgound she used.  The sentiment is "a Big Little Hello" which is by none other than Charlene herself!!

Darlene Pavlick created a wonderful summer theme card using a lovely stamp from Fawn Palmer.  This image is called Just Flying By  and it comes with the adorable teddy bear as well as the sentiment shown plus two additional sentiments for only $3!

Tammy Hair created a stunning card using a brand new image from Fawn Palmer called Beautiful Mermaid.  Isn't her card just stunning?  It comes with the wonderful sentiment shown plus two additional sentiments for only $3.  Gorgeous, Tammy!

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog)  used a great image from artist Cheryl Alger called Max and his Ladybug.  Isn't he great?  I added a light blue embossed background and a trail of ladybugs.  The sentiment I am using is from Squigglefly artist  Charlene Mitchell and is called A Big Little Hello.

I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card to play along this week.  You are always welcome to play no matter what images you use, but to be eligible for the prize, please use at least one stamp from Squigglefly!

Shy Bear Blog Hop

Hello everyone!
Welcome to the Squigglefly Shy Bear blog hop.

This hop is dedicated to Melissa Chettle and her son Justin.  She was a friend of Design Team member Charlene and she passed away unexpectedly this June at just 43 years young.

Melissa was an avid crafter and a HUGE fan of the Shy Bear images.  She had even commissioned  Charlene to design many Shy Bear cards for her.  Unfortunately she never saw them.  So we are having this wonderful Blog Hop in her honor, using all Shy Bear cards.

These adorable images come from Squigglefly artist Lynne Stansbery who is the creator of Shy Bear.
Card By Holley; Image Sunflower Bear

Be sure to leave comments on each blog as you go, as well as comments here.  One lucky blog Hopper will be selected and will get their choice of three wonderful images from Squigglefly! The blog hop winner will be announced on Monday, July 22th during the posting of that week's challenge!

Here's the Hop Order:
