Squigglefly Challenge #117 - SFC117 - FLORAL FANTASY

Time for another new challenge!

Before we officially start this week's challenge, we would like to announce the winner for last week's sketch challenge.

Sketchy Sketchy challenge winner is Dawn

Congratulations Dawn! (Woo Hoo!)
Dawn, please contact Holly for your image.
Thank you for participating in the Squigglefly Challenge last week.

To win you must use a Squigglefly image.
Remember- we have freebies available on the Squigglefly website.

Thanks to everyone who participated last week's sketch challenge! We can't to see your projects for this week!
*****************************
Speaking of this week's challenge THIS week's challenge:
FLORAL FANTASY
We use flowers to celebrate births, weddings, proms and just to say "I love you".
Show us how you can use flowers on your project (image or embellishment).

***********************************
This week the Headliners rose (pun intended) to the occasion and shared their blossoming talent with us.

Tammy used "Twin Dollies" from artist Lulu Lancaster. I love the combination of this image with the vintage text background and felt flowers. Don't miss the detail on the leaves!
Link
Stephanie
used the sentiment "Friends are Flowers in the Garden of Life" by artist Nina Brackett. I love the elegance and the ribbon flower is fabulous. Be sure to check out an inside peek of the card on Stephanie's blog.
Terri used "Blind Date" by artist Marlene Shaw. I'm humming the "Mystery Date" song from the 1960's as I'm laughing at the fabulous modern sentiment. I'm loving the shiny glasses too.

Pat used "Nerdy Girl Devil" by our own design team lead, Marlene Shaw. I was gobsmacked when I saw how she had cleverly added Halloween into this floral challenge. Love all those touches of texture.

Jill used "This Old Front Porch" by perennial Squigglefly favorite, Lynne Stansbury. Jill set the scene for a summer's day with this clean and simple card.

Holley got a little naughty with "Fake Hooter" from (again) artist Marlene Shaw. Holley framed her subject and added some fabulous flowers with faux jeweled centers. Just think of what kind of sentiment Holley added inside...

Debbie used "Bloom with Happiness" from artist Lynne Stansbery. I love how the text is overlaid across the focal image. Look at all the shapes she used too- really nice!

Peggy used "Cottage Window" drawn by our Marvelous design team member, Deena Perreault. I love the monochromatic color scheme and the clean lines.

Heather (that's me!) used "Happy Everything" by artist Nina Brackett. Shout out to my Mom- Happy Birthday! Photo credit to my 11 year old daughter (who wouldn't let me 'borrow' my digital camera).

***Please take a look at the challenge rules- we updated them recently***
We realize that many people don't have blogs, but instead participate in our challenges using on-line galleries and we love that you are helping us spread the word about Squigglefly! However, many of the galleries require passwords and not all of us at Squigglefy belong to every gallery or group. To help us make sure we don't miss your artwork, we are asking that if you do use an online gallery that you leave us a comment on the challenge post. That way we'll be sure to have a member of the Squigglefly team who is a member of that gallery (SCS, CDAC, PCP, etc) can validate your entry. 1) If you up-load your creation to any on-line photo galleries, please use SFC117 for your keywords when loading your creation photo there.
1b) please leave a comment on the challenge blog post so that someone from Squigglefly can validate your entry for the prize.
2) You don't *have* to include a Squigglefly image on your creation, but in order to qualify for the prize you will need to use one! You can also combine SF images with non-SF images to qualify! Don't have one? There are several FREEBIES you can grab!
3) You have one week to complete the challenge and it will close Sunday evening. The winner will be announced at the same time the new challenge post comes up...so be sure to check back EVERY Monday to see if you are a winner!
4) Please leave a direct link to your entry in the comments below. The our linking tool works sporadically and we don't want to miss your project! (No back-linking please!)

Thanks for joining us for this week's challenge. We're looking forward to seeing your floral creations.

Squigglefly Challenge #115- SFC115 - COLOR ME (Red/ Orange)

Before we move on to Color Bowl part 2 for this week's challenge we would like to announce the winners of last week's
Color Me (Green/ Blue) Color Bowl challenge.

Congratulations to our winner, Margaret!
Margaret, please contact Holly for your image. Thank you for participating in the Squigglefly Challenge last week.

We had 21 players in last week's challenge (but a only a handful of players used a Squigglefly image). To win you must use a Squigglefly image.
Remember- we have freebies available on the Squigglefly website.

Thank you to everyone who participated last week's colorful challenge!

*****************************
Now, onto THIS week's challenge:
COLOR ME (Red/ Orange)
This is part 2 of our Color Bowl challenge!
We're coloring the town RED and/or ORANGE!
It's the finale of the Color Bowl challenge.
Let's see the main color of your card in this color group:
We're hot! Use any shade(s) of red and/or orange the main colors on your project.
Red/ burgundy/ orange/ tangerine/ apricot/ rust.
Think tropical sunsets, fruit, flames- anything in this color family.
***********************************

The Headliners are red hot this week! Here are their absolutely smashing creations featuring red/ orange (and all of the shades in between). Thanks Headliners!

Stephanie used the "Seasonal Trees" from artist Nina Brackett. What a fantastic fall card- great use of patterned paper too. (Below there is another card which also features this image.)

Holley used "Strange Sunflower" created by Lulu Lancaster. Look at that fabulous hair and don't you love the buttons and rick rack?

Tammy is feeling mighty festive with "Party Animals" by Janet Jones. Tammy was very clever and added a textured background and popped up the elephant's head and ear to give it depth.

Jill utilized "A Breezy Walk" drawn by Alecia Blake. I love how Jill used a hexagon shaped sentiment and repeated the dots in the dress on the background paper.

Debbie's infusion of color celebrates "Butterfly Suzie" by Diane Carubia. Great use of texture with the flowers, faux gems and popped butterflies.

Terri also used "Season Trees" by artist Nina Brackett. Notice Terri's image is flipped as the mirror image of Stephanie's above (you get both versions of the image with purchase.) Very cool (knotted?) ribbon and a great textured button.

Pat created with "This Little Piggy had Chardonnay" by artist Suzanne Urban. What a fantastic gift bag and I love the assorted metallic embellishments across the bottom.

And finally Heather (that's me) used "Phat Sexy Dude" by Marlene S. I went with simple colorblock paper to highlight his award!
