Squigglefly Challenge #26, SFC2614 Let the Sunshine in

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Hello everyone! Welcome to this week's Squigglefly Challenge. First let's announce last week's winner.  Last week, our challenge was to create a single layer card.  The winner is Sarah who created a wonderful 4th of July theme card using Lynne Stansbery's Shy Bear God Bless Our Troops.  This week's winner can please contact Holly at usyungs@gmail.com for your prize.

We are also sad to say this will be designer Charlene Mitchell's last time with her inspiring creations.  Please leave a comment on this week's posting to wish her well and thank her for her wonderful work.  We know she will continue to be around and join in the fun contests in the future.  We will all miss her.  Next month we have a brand new design team member starting on the Holley Hobbyists, Jen Leeflang. Welcome!
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This week's challenge is SFC2414 Let the Sunshine in!

This week the challenge to create card that has the Sun on it.  It can be a die cut, an image, a button, brad or eyelet, even a print on your paper.  Your card does not have to be summer in theme, but please have a sun somewhere. We'd love for you to use a Squigglefly image, to be prize eligible it's required, but everyone is welcome to play along.

Let's start with some great examples from the Holley Hobbyists:

Pat Martin  created this adorable card in the shape and color of the SUN. Great job, Pat! She's using two adorable images from new artist Sandra Caldwell, Americana Beauty and Firecrakers.

Jan Marshall  created this adorable card and added her own die cut of the Sun. She's using a sweet image from artist Cheryl Alger called  Backpack Max.  Isn't he adorable?  looks like he has a full backpack and an armload of books!

Elizabeth Hart designed this summer day card using a wonderful sun in the background using a great guy from artist James Horvath. This image is called Cool Kid.   Didn't we all know a kid like this growing up?

Charlene Mitchell made a great guy themed birthday card using a brand new image from James Horvath.  This fun card has the sun in the background . Her image is called Cool Kid.  Isn't it fun to see the same image used twice and how different it looks on two different cards?

Darlene Pavlick created this fun filled card with a brand new image from Squigglefly artist Cheryl Alger. She created her own sun as part of her card.  The image scene is comprised of  The Game is in the Player on the right and Pigtail Gabby on the left.  TOO CUTE!!

Tammy Hair created this adorable card using a beautiful stamp from artist Sandra Caldwell called  Bearly Spring.  Don't you love her gorgeous coloring on this image?

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog) made a birthday theme card. I used a sun button and put it in the center of my flower.  The image I used is from artist Niina Niskanen and is called Birthday Girl.

I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card to play along this week.  You are always welcome to play no matter what images you use, but to be eligible for the prize, please use at least one stamp from Squigglefly!

We realize that many people don't have blogs, but instead participate in our challenges using on-line galleries. We love that you are helping us spread the word about Squigglefly! To help us make sure we don't miss your artwork, we are asking that if you do use an online gallery that you leave us a comment on the challenge post. That way we'll be sure to have a member of the Squigglefly team who is a member of that gallery (SCS, CDAC, PCP, etc) can validate your entry.

1.) If you up-load your creation to any on-line photo galleries, please use SFC2614 for your keywords when loading your creation photo there. 1b) please leave a comment on the challenge blog post so that someone from Squigglefly can validate your entry for the prize.

2) You don't *have* to include a Squigglefly image on your creation, but in order to qualify for the prize you will need to use one! You can also combine SF images with non-SF images to qualify! Don't have one? There are several FREEBIES you can grab from the Squigglefly store, hop on over there. Those images will qualify you for the prize.

“The magic of nature is what inspires me. From the little hummingbirds that visit my garden in summer to the great horned owls heard throughout the winter nights...there is magic in the air!”

Discovering the art of Zentangle about 4 years ago Norma began incorporating "tangles" into her fantasy drawings and thus "Fairy-Tangles™" was born. She received her Zentangle® Teacher Certification in October of 2011 at the 7th Zentangle Teacher Training program held in Providence, RI. She is also a co-author with 3 other fabulous Zentangle artist/teachers for the book, The Art of Zentangle.

Norma Burnell, is an accomplished artist and has been involved in the arts all her life.  She has taught many art classed to both children and adults. Tam Hess

I am Tam Hess, skilled coffee drinker, cake taster and spaceship driver. Professional artist, blogger and photographer. Mostly loved family and fun!

I have always had fun sketching and playing around with whimsical shapes. I enjoy creating something new and different. I especially like to take an object rooted in reality and twist it to my imagination. Most of the little characters and designs are a result of my "skewed" point of view.
I have a website full of card making tips, tricks, and resources at cardmakingartists.com

Angela Charles

Cute, colorful and whimsy doodle drawing has been a part of my art world
since childhood. I began drawing at the age of 8 and knew then I was
destined to create art when I won an art contest at school. I enjoy creating
illustration images that tell a short story or that will inspire others to tell their
own.

Creating happy and friendly art that makes people smile is one of my
passions and daily goals. With my art I aspire to encourage others to
celebrate everyday living because with each day given is truly a gift.
