Squigglefly Challenge #24, SFC2412 Border Patrol

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? Well, first let me tell you about last week's winner!  The requirements for last week's challenge were to create a shaped card (anything but the standard rectangle).  The winner for that challenge is Shirley Qu!  Check out her adorable card HERE using a wonderful image from artist Lynn Stansbery called Am I having what yet?

Please contact Holly at usyungs@gmail.com, for your prize.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, on to this week's challenge, SFC2412 Border Patrol
Add some flair to your border with a punch, torn edge, deco scissors or ??? surprise me!  This flair can be to the edges around your image, the opening edge of your card or ALL the edges, you choose. Check out these samples to inspire you from the Holley Hobbyists.

Pat Martin created this card using a stamp called Eucharist by artist Diana Garrison.  Look at her stitched border.  That's just an amazing stamp that she colored.

Shawna Sealander designed a super adorable card using this amazing image from artist Cherly Alger called Sams Rainy Day. So Cute!  I just love the shaped frames that she used to enclose her images and the great embossed die cut in the background.  So many layers.  Ah, Oh that ribbon!!
Charlene Mitchell shares a wonderful card using Hearts as Big as a Whale by artist Louise Gardner.  She added wonderful borders around her finished image, her embellishments and her saying, which is a cute Squigglefly saying from artist Jess Holland for just .99!!
Tammy Hair created a very patriotic beauty using Diana Garrison's Proud.  This image comes in a set with three different images, two Tammy is using below, the giant USA and the "Happy 4th."  The set also comes with a "Proud to be an American" sentiment.  I just love how Tammy made the USA so large to take up the front of her card and then added te Happy 4th as a great accent.  Not to mention her three color border!!

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog)  am using a fun image from Denise Clemensen called Summer Space Swimmer. Isn't he just adorable?  I used an edged border the image from Nestabilities and a border punch on the right hand edge of the card with three layers.

I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card this week! Now run out and find some fun embellishments, pick out some new shape or size, or just think up something totally different this week and show it to us!  We can't wait to see it.

Squigglefly Challenge #22, SFC2212 Make Me Laugh

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? Well, first let me make some announcements.  We are so excited to have some new artists join us starting this week, clicking on their names here will let you go check out their work. Huge welcome to Mike Eustis, Kim Fleming, and Denise Clemmensen

How about last week's winner?  The requirements for last week's challenge were to create a clean and simple card using no pattern paper.  The winner for that challenge is Carolyn, for her beautifully simple yet elegant card (click here) using a wonderful sentiment from artist Lynne Stansbery that says Thinking of You (note:  this image comes with many other sayings along with the cutest cat image).

Please contact Holly at usyungs@gmail.com, for your prize.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, on to this week's challenge, SFC2212 Make Me Laugh

Do you have a funny image?  How about thinking up a funny saying to go with any image....there's all sorts of great ideas that can go with just about any image out there that would make a person laugh.  Doesn't have to be a joke, perhaps just clever saying that makes a chuckle or a smile. Check out these samples to inspire you from the Holley Hobbyists.

Pat Martin created this pretty card using a beautiful fairy by Daphne van der Zanden called Oh Dear Fairy.  She added a wonderful sentiment. "Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin.  That, or kick-ass red lipstick.  Gwyneth Paltrow"

Theresa Gerber made this super cute card with Sam's Chocolate Cake from artist Cheryl Alger.  Oh my, too adorable. I wish I could grow my own sweets! The image with the candy is called Candy Flower Snail from artist Denise Clemmensen (this image comes in a set with an additional image).  These cuties are just perfect together too.

Shawna Sealander designed a Father's Day theme card using Dad's Naptime by artist Lynne Stansbery.  Then she added a cute saying inside her card, how fun!

Charlene Mitchell shares a wonderful card using new artist Denise Clemmensen's image called Hungry Snail.  She added funny sayings and I love how she used pearls to connect the thought bubbles from her sentiments to the minds of the snail and the plants!  Clever.

Tammy Hair created this delightful card using a Lynne Stansbery image called Come and get it.  She added her own fun sentiment "Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me."  Awwww.

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog)  am using a fun image from Lynne Stansbery called Pretty Little Piggies.  You know that sounds like fun itself!  Holly Young created the saying on top and I wrote a funny saying inside the card.
Inside the card (You know this is so true, esp for my feet that go 10-20 MILES per day!):

I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card this week! Now run out and find some fun embellishments, pick out some new shape or size, or just think up something totally different this week and show it to us!  We can't wait to see it.
