Squigglefly Challenge #28, SFC2812 I Give Thee, A Recipe

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? First let me welcome the new team members that I told you about last time.  WELCOME Jan, Elizabeth, and Lisa!  Secondly, let me say "Huge thanks" to team member Theresa, as she served us well and we will miss her lots. Thanks for being on our team.  Hugs.

   Now let me tell you about last week's winner!  The requirement for last week's challenge was to use paper piecing as part of your project.  The winner for that challenge is Carolyn from Luv My Cards who created a wonderful Paper Piecing using Future Astronaut from Cheryl Alger.  Congrats!

Please contact Holly at usyungs@gmail.com, for your prize.

Now, on to this week's challenge, SFC2812 I Give Thee, a Recipe

The recipe, in addition to an image is the following three things:
1) ribbon or lace;
2) brad or eyelets;
3) die cut(s) which may be store bought, or hand cut, or hand punched, or cut with your own machine, or used to cut out your stamped image, or used to cut the shape of your card;

Combine these three things, your image (you must use a Squigglefly image to be eligible for the prize, but it is not required to play along), and any other goodies you would like to share on your card.  We can't wait to see it.  If you would like some inspiration,  check out these samples from the Holley Hobbyists.

Pat Martin created this card using a stamp called Something's Fishy by Mike Eustis.  I love the unique fold she's done with her card and the marbled paper she used!

Jan Marshall  made this beautiful card using This Little Piggy went Shopping by artist Suzanne Urban.  Check out the adorable saying she added!  Clever!  I just love her coloring and that amazing die cut and so many layers to her paper.  Her saying is perfect, sure gives a new meaning to "this little piggy went to market" huh?

Elizabeth Hart designed this adorable card with This Little Piggy went Shopping from artist Suzanne Urban.  I often like to see multiple designs using the same image.  Isn't it great to see how different that Jan and Elizabeth's cards look using the same image?  I love the warm colors that Elizabeth chose below with cute lace and ribbon both!!

Charlene Mitchell shares a wonderful card  using "The Old Gray Mare" by artist Lynne Stansbery. This adorable image comes with a couple of fun sayings.  She included one on the inside of her card, shown below.  I just love her lace, brad and die cut combo!
 Inside her card:

Lisa Minkler crafted this wonderful card.  Don't you love her coloring?  how about that amazing stitching?  She's using "The Old Gray Mare" by artist Lynne Stansbery.  This image comes with additional sayings that are not shown on the card!

Theresa Gerber designed this card using Dangerous Wizard from artist Mike Eustis.  How adorable!  It's been so wonderful having Theresa on our team.  Be sure and leave her some love in the comments section below.  This stamp from Mike Eustis is just adorable and perfect for boy themed cards.  Delightful.

Tammy Hair created a fun card using The Old Gray Mare by artist Lynne Stansbery.  She is also using one of the sayings that comes with the stamp, "You don't stop laughing because you grow old.  You grow old because you stop laughing."  Isn't it amazing to see three different looks with the same stamp?  check out all of the design teams ideas with this image!

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog)  used a wonderful image from Mike Eustis called I Love NY. Isn't this image just adorable?  I added some adorable lace, tiny metallic blue brads, and some great flourish style die cuts from Sizzix.
I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card this week. Now run out and find the three items you need to make a card for this week's challenge!
We realize that many people don't have blogs, but instead participate in our challenges using on-line galleries. We love that you are helping us spread the word about Squigglefly! However, many of the galleries require passwords and not all of us at Squigglefly belong to every gallery or group. To help us make sure we don't miss your artwork, we are asking that if you do use an online gallery that you leave us a comment on the challenge post. That way we'll be sure to have a member of the Squigglefly team who is a member of that gallery (SCS, CDAC, PCP, etc) can validate your entry.

1.) If you up-load your creation to any on-line photo galleries, please use SFC2812 for your keywords when loading your creation photo there. 1b) please leave a comment on the challenge blog post so that someone from Squigglefly can validate your entry for the prize.

2) You don't *have* to include a Squigglefly image on your creation, but in order to qualify for the prize you will need to use one! You can also combine SF images with non-SF images to qualify! Don't have one? There are several FREEBIES you can grab from the Squigglefly store, hop on over there. Those images will qualify you for the prize.

3) You have one week to complete the challenge and it will close Sunday evening. The winner will be announced at the same time the new challenge post comes up...so be sure to check back EVERY Monday to see if you are a winner!

4) Please leave a direct link to your entry in the comments below. The linking tool works sporadically and we don't want to miss your project! (No back-linking please.)
