Squigglefly Challenge #2, SFC0213 I've got the Winter Blues!

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Hello everyone.  Welcome to the first 2013 Squigglefly Challenge with Holley Hobbyists!  Are you ready for this week's challenge? Well first let me tell you about last week's winner.  The contest last week was to make a Thank You card.  We had several wonderful entries last week.  The winner in last week's challenge was Linda O for creating Thank You cards using Pansy Watering Can by Marla Shega and Hanging Cat Basket  by Louise Gardener;  You can see a little tutorial on her project on Linda's Blog (HERE).

The winner can contact Holly from Squigglefly at usyungs@gmail.com, for your prize.

Now, on to this week's challenge, SFC0213 I've got the winter blues!

To make a card for this week's challenge, I will give you one of two choices:  1) create a card in any shade(s) of blue; or 2) create a winter theme card.  Or be festive and create a winter card in blue!  It's up to you.

Let's start with some examples made by the Holley Hobbyists:

Pat Martin crafted this beautiful card using artist Lynne Stansbery's fun image called Strut Your Stuff.  This adorable card is in beautiful blues!  This stamp comes with 2 great sayings "men go shopping to buy what they need;  women go shopping to see what they need to buy" and "Strut your stuff!"

Jan Marshall  created a this card with a winter theme and a little blue too!  This image is called Sassy Sally's Winter Morning Social from artist Cheryl Alger.  What nice coloring on this card.  Lovely work Jan.

Elizabeth Hart designed a wonderful winter themed card using an adorable image from artist Cheryl Alger.  This image is called Sassy Sally's Winter Morning Social!  Her beautiful creation has blue and winter theme, just perfect for this week's challenge.

Charlene Mitchell designed this pretty card with an adorable owl and some background blues.  Great for winter theme.  The adorable owl is from artist Fawn Palmer, A Winter Owl too.   Beautiful work Charlene!

Lisa Minkler crafted this wonderful card with blues and just perfect for that upcoming Valentine's Day.  This adorable image is from artist Lynne Stansbery of two little kids hugging and is called "Oh Please Be Mine."  How adorable is that?  Her card says "I choose you."  That's sweet!

Tammy Hair created this heart warming card in beautiful shades of blue using a wonderful stamp from artist Cheryl Alger called Avery Celebrates With Cake.  She added a wonderful saying, "Happy Birthday" on a blue heart, just perfect for this week's challenge.  Don't you love her coloring of Avery?

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog)  used a great image from artist Cheryl Alger called Avery Celebrates With Cake.  This adorable little girl could be used for any special occasion, but I created this Blue card for my Brother, whose birthday is Jan 14th.  Happy Birthday Bro!

I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card to play along this week.  You are always welcome to play no matter what images you use, but to be eligible for the prize, please use at least one stamp from Squigglefly!

We realize that many people don't have blogs, but instead participate in our challenges using on-line galleries. We love that you are helping us spread the word about Squigglefly! However, many of the galleries require passwords and not all of us at Squigglefly belong to every gallery or group. To help us make sure we don't miss your artwork, we are asking that if you do use an online gallery that you leave us a comment on the challenge post. That way we'll be sure to have a member of the Squigglefly team who is a member of that gallery (SCS, CDAC, PCP, etc) can validate your entry.

1.) If you up-load your creation to any on-line photo galleries, please use SFC0213 for your keywords when loading your creation photo there. 1b) please leave a comment on the challenge blog post so that someone from Squigglefly can validate your entry for the prize.

2) You don't *have* to include a Squigglefly image on your creation, but in order to qualify for the prize you will need to use one! You can also combine SF images with non-SF images to qualify! Don't have one? There are several FREEBIES you can grab from the Squigglefly store, hop on over there. Those images will qualify you for the prize.

3) You have one week to complete the challenge and it will close Sunday evening. The winner will be announced at the same time the new challenge post comes up...so be sure to check back EVERY Monday to see if you are a winner!

4) Please leave a direct link to your entry in the comments below. The linking tool works sporadically and we don't want to miss your project! (No back-linking please.)
