Squigglefly Challenge #8, SFC0813 Get in Shape!

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Hello everyone.  We have some news this week, first we want to thank Lisa M for being on our design team.  We are going to miss her and wish her well and look forward to seeing her join us in the challenges. And now we would like to welcome our newest team member Darlene Pavlick.  I can't wait for you to see her wonderful creations!!  She's joining the Holley Hobbyists with her beautiful cards this week.

So, are you ready for this week's challenge?
Well first let me tell you about last week's winner.  The contest last week was to make a card using a sentiment.  The winner was Linda O, who created a great card using two Squigglefly images Another Birthday by Joy Hall and Valentine Pup from artist Linda Birkinshaw.

The winner can contact Holly from Squigglefly at usyungs@gmail.com, for your prize.

Now, on to this week's challenge, SFC0813 Get in Shape!

This week we want to change the basic shape of our cards.  So, to make a card for this week's challenge, create a card in any size EXCEPT A2 (standard 4.25x5.5 rectangle);  How about a square card or something round, something tall or cut something with a die-cut?  Surprise me....

Let's start with some examples made by the Holley Hobbyists:

Pat Martin crafted this beautiful round card using artist Cheryl Alger's adorable teddy bear called Juggling Heart Bear.  Isn't he adorable?  I think this card would have made a great valentine too.  It looks full of love!

Jan Marshall  created this, a beautiful wine bottle décor, and it's not A2 sized! It uses a great image from artist Gayle Search called Vineyards and Grapes.  What a great way to make a card and a gift wrap in one!

Elizabeth Hart designed a perfect long card using Gayle Search's image "Vineyards and Grapes." She made a tall card into a long card!  Wonderful idea.  Perfect for a Birthday.

Charlene Mitchell designed this pretty card with an adorable image. She's using a brand new image that will go on sale this week when the March stamps are presented this week.  This wonderful stamp is part of a beautiful set of flowers and sentiments designed by artist Elisabeta Kushner.

Darlene Pavlick crafted this stunning card using a Spellbinders die-cutter to create the wonderful shape.  This image is called Plant a Seed of Love designed by artist Cheryl Alger. I love how she made this card a get well card by adding the sentiment.  Stunning work. Welcome to our design team!!

Tammy Hair created this adorable heart shaped card. She is using a sweet image from artist Cheryl Alger called Noah's Big Heart.  Don't you love the awesome texture on that heart card?  how about those adorable green hearts that perfectly match his t-shirt?

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog)  used a great image from artist Fawn Palmer.  This sexy image is called I'll blow you a kiss.  The card itself it 8.5 inches tall and would fit in a standard legal envelope.  The border is punched out and held onto the card with the two spots that have pink hearts.
I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card to play along this week.  You are always welcome to play no matter what images you use, but to be eligible for the prize, please use at least one stamp from Squigglefly!

We realize that many people don't have blogs, but instead participate in our challenges using on-line galleries. We love that you are helping us spread the word about Squigglefly! However, many of the galleries require passwords and not all of us at Squigglefly belong to every gallery or group. To help us make sure we don't miss your artwork, we are asking that if you do use an online gallery that you leave us a comment on the challenge post. That way we'll be sure to have a member of the Squigglefly team who is a member of that gallery (SCS, CDAC, PCP, etc) can validate your entry.

1.) If you up-load your creation to any on-line photo galleries, please use SFC0813 for your keywords when loading your creation photo there. 1b) please leave a comment on the challenge blog post so that someone from Squigglefly can validate your entry for the prize.

2) You don't *have* to include a Squigglefly image on your creation, but in order to qualify for the prize you will need to use one! You can also combine SF images with non-SF images to qualify! Don't have one? There are several FREEBIES you can grab from the Squigglefly store, hop on over there. Those images will qualify you for the prize.

3) You have one week to complete the challenge and it will close Sunday evening. The winner will be announced at the same time the new challenge post comes up...so be sure to check back EVERY Monday to see if you are a winner!

4) Please leave a direct link to your entry in the comments below. The linking tool works sporadically and we don't want to miss your project! (No back-linking please.)
